Short description The Amapondo Children's Project (ACP for short) started in 2001 and was registered as a non-profit organisation (048-276-NPO) in 2006. The ACP offers community support through its involvement in a number of activities. Our primary focus is with the Mthumbane Pre-Primary School and the Port St Johns Junior Secondary School, where we promote strength of education, administration excellence, and most importantly healthy and happy children. We also support the Port St Johns Youth Centre, the Amapondo Gift Shop and Designers and other local initiatives. ACP Vision Our vision is to recognize the needs of our local community in Port St Johns, which guides our ability to facilitate and support the space for change in order to create community led enterprises, jobs, education, self-empowerment and valuable exchange. To achieve this we depend on the skills and experience of both national and international volunteers. |

Our vision is to recognize the needs of the local community of Port St Johns, then to facilitate and support the space for change in order to create community led enterprises, jobs, education, self-empowerment and valuable exchange, by utilizing the skills and experience of both national and international volunteers.

- A self-created constructive plan of action
- Training in order to impart education, and thereby to foster knowledge
- Helping communities set up new initiatives
- Mentorship to overcome challenges, to identify needs, and to foster personal growth
- Building on and providing additional support to projects that are already in place
- Where possible, the provision of volunteer workers and resources
